I do believe that numbers 1 and 3 are me to a T.

They say what doesn't kill you only makes you stronger.

They say that you don't know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

They obviously haven't battled health insurance companies.

In case you live under a rock, I can't get health insurance. I'm apparently not "stable" enough. If you have been living under that rock for quite some time and didn't know, almost 2 years ago I was told they found 2 tumors in my chest, I could have lymphoma and were referring me to the top Cardio Surgeon in the city. I was a month shy of turning 23. Since then, my arrogant Cardio Surgeon and his crazy nurse have worked very hard to make sure nothing has changed with my CT scans. And, currently, I'm healthy as a horse. Nothing has changed in almost 2 years. My doctors say that I should be fine and have no problems with my tumors. Insurance companies, on the other hand, seem to think other wise. For the last 9 months, I've fought to get insurance. Only to be repeatedly denied. Recently, I found out that I have to have a new CT scan to prove I'm "stable" enough to get long term health insurance. So the new problem is how to get a CT scan with no insurance? They are a pretty penny (ie: roughly $2,000-$4,000). And then, after the new CT, I can apply again and then they may cover me. They aren't sure yet. It's SO stupid!!! And it's not fair. SO. That's what I've been up to. Fighting insurance companies. And contemplating my next move. Something in this country has to change. Seriously.

So, when life knocks you down, get up. When it knocks you down again, get back up and knock life to the ground. Don't ever give up and never back down. Stand your ground, even if your voice shakes. And pray. God is good all the time.

  1. Resilence is definitely a word I would use to describe you. I love you, Vicki! Kepp on keeping on. God will find a way to grant you peace.

  2. Resilient is the perfect word to describe you, my dear. You are an amazing woman and stronger than most that I know. Like Susan said, there is none greater than God's peace and it's just over the horizon.
