[24]

[I got this off of my notes on Facebook. This also happens to be my 24th entry in this blog.]

I've had several friends write a note titled "[#of years in age] things I've learned about life." I've read some pretty compelling (and some hilarious) things so far. Here's mine.

24 things I've learned (and am still learning) about life:

1. God NEVER gives you anything you can’t handle.
2. I still have so many things to learn.
3. You can never have too many shoes…especially cute shoes.
4. No one said life would be easy...they just said it’d be worth it.
5. Good things come to those who wait.
6. Money can’t buy happiness.
7. Times change and friends leave. And life doesn’t stop for anybody.
8. People miss the silver lining because they are expecting gold.
9. In the words of Audrey Hepburn “I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls”
10. When you’re struggling with something, look at all the people around you and realize that every single person is struggling with something, and to them, it’s just as hard as what you’re going through.
11. Just because today is terrible doesn’t mean that tomorrow won’t be the best day of your life. You just gotta get there.
12. When real people in life fall down, they get right back up and keep walking.
13. Never settle for anything less than what you deserve.
14. Laughter is usually the best medicine.
15. A military funeral is one of the most humbling experiences ever.
16. There’s a point in life when you get tired of chasing everyone and trying to fix everything. But, it’s not giving up. It’s realizing that you don’t need certain people and their crap.
17. People hold onto something because they fear nothing that great will ever happen to them again.
18. “I may not have gone where I intended to go but I think I ended up where intended to be” Douglas Adams
19. Take nothing but photos. Leave nothing but footprints. Kill nothing but time.
20. Kids really do say the funniest things. The kids I teach in Children’s church bring joy to my heart.
21. My family and friends are truly my saving grace. (As is Starbucks caramel fraps)
22. “Live the life you love and love the life you live” Bob Marley
23. You can’t fix stupid nor can you change anyone.
24. I’m fairly certain that given a nice cape and a tiara, I could save the world.

Your turn!

[ps:what do you think of the new background?]

  1. I couldn't read past twelve because I was crying. Jenny and you with the damn words of wisdom and compelling entries. It's gonna kill me, yet! But don't stop writing them. I need them. And I should do a 26 things I have learned entry. Yep.

And you changed this blog again! I REALLY like this one.

  2. P.S. I agree whole-heartedly with number 24. Don't know where you're getting your cape from, but I can lead you my tiara. It has special powers. Yep.

  3. It got me so teary eyed! <3

I love the new background! I don't really like pink that often, but I do love it on the background.
