If I've learned anything in my 25 (just a month shy, so what?) short years of life, it's this:
God answers prayer. True story.
Right now, you may be saying "Vicki, I prayed really hard for those new pair of shoes I saw at Dillard's last week and guess what? They aren't in my closet yet." I said God answers prayer...He does not buy you new shoes ;) God answers prayer in MANY ways, shapes and forms. A lot of times, it's not what we want or even expect. We have to learn to let go and learn to let God be in control. I truly think that people miss the silver lining in things because they are expecting gold. We have to be open to what God has planned for us. And that is something I still struggle with. It's hard. I'll be the first to admit it. It's hard. But no one ever said life would be easy, they just said it'd be worth it.
Anyway. I'll get off my little soapbox and update things in my life.
A close friend was in town last week from Alaska! I took 5 days total off work. 3 from the office and 2 from my part time job. I can't even begin to explain just how happy that time off made me. For once, I remembered what "fun" is. Plus, it helped that, even though Holli was gone for 8 months, it was like she never left! It made me incredibly happy and was a great break that I so desperately needed.
I have an AWESOME sister. She is taking to me Washington, DC in September! We leave in 10 weeks. We are thrilled to death. I'm ready to be a tourist for a week!
No new job yet. I'm still praying for one. Pray saints pray!
I think this is all for now. Just remember "No one said life would be easy, they just said it'd be worth it"
